2001/2 was the year John W really started to play as well as we know he can - throwing 4 games with a 70+ 3 dart average. It may have helped to have 2 of his cousins - Graham and Steve - playing in the team as well. We also welcomed Marky Mark and young Peter for 5 or 6 games each.

Sadly in 2001/2 we lost founder members Darren, Neil and Danielle. In spite of this setback this was one of our best seasons, winning 13 of the 18 matches we played. Of the games we lost, 2 were to the Earl of Eldon - now the Croham Arms B - and 2 to the Legion Athletic - Yarn Ballard's team that year.

Memorably the other defeat was to the South Norwood Liberal Club on a night when John W was a little under the influence - he even apologised to the pillar he had just walked into!

I believe that this was also the season when a player had to miss a game after a hoovering accident! *

John W was highest average, and got most gameshots while Steve hit the top finish of 100. Dave H's finishing was a revelation - he was third in the GS list. Even the captain managed his first maximum in a match.
